The Future of Leadership Development is here!
Welcome to the future
For decades, concepts such as outdoor training or shared cooking classes have been used to solve organisational challenges of teamwork and communication. Typically, with little or no success - other than a few sprains and hangovers. Often, more teamwork was built at the bar than through the learning activities. What if there was a solution to these challenges that was proven, measurable and highly cost-effective? Now there is.
In partnership with the award-winning Jenson8 team, we have brought virtual reality leadership development to Australia. There is nothing like it.
Why choose experiential Virtual Reality to develop your people?
Adding the virtual reality delivery modality to your professional development curriculum gives you a significant competitive advantage – deeper impact of learning and higher engagement. The simulations we use immerse participants in a complete adventure, where there are problems to solve and deadlines to meet. Rather than using “role plays” to practice or demonstrate skills, participants are being authentic – allowing for their natural behaviours to emerge, be identified, and where appropriate, reinforced or redirected. It’s real and it’s immediate.
VR learners are:
4x
faster to train than in the classroom
275%
more confident to apply skills learned after training
3.75x
more emotionally connected to content than classroom learners
4x
more focused than their
e-learning peers

Learn
The immersive experience provides participants with the opportunity to observe and reflect on their own behaviour and that of others as they accomplish (or not) the goals and meet the challenges of the situation. The experience is delivered in "cycles", each culminating in a learning debrief, creating a process of continuous improvement.

How it works
The Foundation
Participants are provided with VR Headsets (or we can use yours1).
Prior to the simulation, they complete a brief psychometric questionnaire.
Then, with very little information, they enter the simulation – up to 4 “players”, up to 4 “coaches” and up to 4 “observers”, depending on numbers.
The “players” leverage their personal and team skills to overcome challenges in an environment of time pressure, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. The facilitator is observing their behaviours for later feedback.
Following the session, the teams debrief with specific observed behaviour being discussed in a safe and proactive way.
1. At present, the simulation runs on Oculus Quest 2 equipment only.
The Options
While the simulation can run on its own with brilliant results, you can increase its power even further when you load it with Blanchard’s award-winning leadership development content to create an integrated learning journey unique to your needs.
For example, adding “Building Trust” to the mix allows people to call out behaviours in the simulation that build or erode trust and challenge whether those behaviours are evident in real life.
Or Team Leadership – how powerful would it be to learn the predictable stages of a team’s lifecycle, and the appropriate leadership interventions, then see them in action?
Our Virtual Reality simulation is powerful enough to stand alone, but flexible enough to meet your organisation’s specific needs. Ask us how!
